One of the worst things I have seen in this industry over the years is the practice of undercutting drink prices. This is where local bars compete to have the cheapest drinks in town on a particular night. Sounds like an understandable business practice, right?

The recent rise to stardom and subsequent media craze for MTV’s Jersey Shore cast rose my interest into looking at celebrity appearances at nightlife venues and how it affects business.

Charlotte's Nightlife in 2010 January 3rd, 2010 Posted by Hunter Wilson

2009 had a lot of movers and shakers in the nightlife. Many things changed. Old bars closed, new bars opened, and the EpiCentre sparked it all. We saw bars like Cans, Brick & Barrel, and Ri~Ra Irish Pub all close their doors in 2009. I was sad to see them go, especially Ri~Ra. Out with the old and in with the new. Bars I am looking forward to opening in 2010 are Butter, Bubble Lounge, Wet Willies, and Crobar. What will 2010 have in store for our nightlife scene?

Drinking vs. Dating Through the Holidays December 23rd, 2009 Posted by Hunter Wilson

There are a few ways of looking at how you will spend your time from Thanksgiving to New Years. Most people see these months as a time to be close to those who are special in their life. You can easily imagine couples curled up on the couch watching “A Charlie Brown Christmas” right next to the fireplace. Christmas tree lights are glimmering in the background. The scent of Cinnamon Spice candles burning on the side table. You start to get that joyful sense of the Holidays...
