The Hillsborough Street arts and recreation community is banding together to present the fourth annual Art It Up! on Saturday, October 14. Sixteen of Raleigh’s top performing and visual arts organizations, as well as recreation outfits are offering unique, and for the most part free, programs throughout the day.
Art It Up! programming ranges from Evolve Movement leading a free yoga workshop in the Rose Garden at Raleigh Little Theatre, to an encore presentation of Seed Art Share’s immersive theatre production Iced Coffee at Jubala. Meanwhile, the Gregg Museum will host Miska Waya, N.C. State’s Native American student drumming group, which is in conjunction with one of the museum’s opening exhibitions, Treasures of Native America - Selections from the Drs. Norman and Gilda Greenberg Gift.
Pullen Park will host two events, the Pumpkin Patch Bash and annual Scarecrow Festival where attendees will build their own scarecrow to display in the park. Scarecrow spaces are limited and advanced registration is encouraged. Families will enjoy the carnival games, crafts, and a movie at the Pumpkin Patch Bash. Free pumpkins are available while supplies last.
